San Juan Cliffside

SAN JUAN CLIFFSIDE

Designed by Prentiss Architects, this house makes the most of its setting and uses a clever combination of timber and concrete to create a beautiful structure.

The house employs large windows to optimise views and fits into the topography of the hillside effortlessly. It uses the natural contours of the cliff to distinguish different levels and makes the most of courtyard spaces.

Images are shown below.

The combination of timber and concrete creates an interesting contrast. The timber panels soften the structure and provide it with a humble aspect and a more residential feeling.

Huge windows provide amazing views of the landscape and help to connect the building to its surroundings.
