The timber cladding that encloses the workshop space is an integral component of the building and a huge contributor to the materiality of the design.
The cladding system is made up of a series of timber slats that vary in size and height to create an uneven and rustic effect of the outside of the building. The slats extend up beyond the roof to form an improvised balustrade system that will surround the outdoor gallery garden space.

As you can see in the images above, the timber cladding greatly alters the building design. It provides a humble element and breaks up the smooth concrete walls. The timber also provides a more natural aesthetic and helps to integrate the garden spaces into the building design.
