PROJECT 3- Revit Development- Curtain Wall Structure

CURTAIN WALL STEEL FRAME DEVELOPMENT.

A key element within the design that helps to tie the building to the site and the surrounding context, is the steel structure that supports the curtain walls.

The steel frame is an abstraction of the story bridge and it has numerous effects on the space. Internally, it provides a contrast to the concrete surfaces in the gallery and manipulates light to create interesting shadows. From an external view, the steel work provides some sort of structure to the glass and gives it a more solid materiality.

Images of the development of the steel framework are shown below.

The images above show the integration of the steel structure into the curtain wall system. The frame is structural as well as aesthetic and it works to introduce metal as a key material within the building.
The frame manipulates light and creates interesting shadows within the interior spaces.
