Designed by Alexander Symes, the Austimer beach house is a beautiful structure and encapsulates many of the elements proposed in the project 3 design.
The floating structure, the curved facade and the use of timber are all elements idealised to be a major part of the final design. The combination of concrete and glass is another element common in both designs.
The house also boasts a number of interesting openings and infill solutions which help to capture views and create intimate spaces within the building. The transparent lower level enhances the effect that the timber box is floating and creates an interesting spatial and material relationship.
